Help please with what I can put on this wall?

I recently moved into a new house with a small living room and our couches are a bit big for the room (they are the kind with wide arms).

We have rejigged furniture in every which way and the best of a bunch of bad options is for now, to have one of our couches pushed up against the bit of wall that sticks out from the cupboard under the stairs which means the couch is not centred on the wall.

If we were to centre it on the wall, it would not leave enough room for the door to the room to open properly. When it comes time to replace our couches, I will get some narrower ones so they can fit better but for now this is where I am at.

My question is, what can I hang above the couch on that wall? I initially just wanted a piece of art but I don't know where I would position it. If I position it over the centre of the couch, I feel it looks odd that it's not centred on the wall, but centred on the wall feels misaligned with the couch.

I am adding diagrams to show what I mean. Would something like a gallery wall with photos or some combination of mirror/pictures work? I don't have a good eye for design at all so sorry for the basic question.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Centered above the couch. You can add additional pieces in the gap on the right- 3 or 4 smaller pictures. (Just my opinion).

Centres above the couch but don't buy some v for the sake of it. A bare wall is better than some generic 'thing' to fill the space!

Agree with centred over the couch. Although how much will you notice once you're sitting the couch and it's behind you?

Could you take the living room door down? Or see if a bi-fold would give you space to have the couch centred? Could be cheaper than replacing the couches, if you like them.

4 or 6 pictures in a grid formation centered over the couch will help create a zoned area

Lots of smaller pieces of art in an irregular configuration so nothing needs to be centred. Commonly works with matching black narrow frames of different shapes and sizes.

Google Picture Wall for inspiration.

Thank you all for the advice. It’s been really helpful!

I'm going to disagree with everyone else, I really like the imbalance created by centring to the wall rather than the sofa, in fact I've done it in my dining room where the picture above the sideboard is off centre to the sideboard. I think if you can't centre the big piece of furniture you have to lean into the asymmetry.
