Privacy blinds

We need some blinds for a bay window in the lounge.
We currently have a large plant which gives us privacy as our house is quite close to the road. It's a cul de sac so not busy but it's not really wide.
The plant is being removed due to a new driveway being put it to create more parking space.
Anyway, I need something to go in the window to give us privacy.
I am interested in plantation shutters but am thinking they will be a pia to dust (I don't dust much)

Roman blinds would be better but if they aren't down all day I'm guessing they won't offer privacy

Anybody got any inspiration?

We have cafe curtains similar to those in the attached photo. That way we can have light in through the top panes but privacy from the road along the bottom.

I didn’t want plantation shutters because I find them cumbersome and they still block out some light when open, and I didn’t want roller or roman blinds because they block out the light through the top panes unnecessarily.

Voiles are a good option. They still let in the light and offer maximum privacy. They can soften the look of a window and room too, and look great paired with curtains. You could get them on a track to follow the bay window.

I have 'day and night blinds' or some people call them 'zebra blinds' all rooms except my lounge and I love them, you can really have privacy with them. I don't find they collect dust really, in fact the blinds in the lounge are just standard shutter blinds and they're awful for dust - I really must change them

@Pinkdreams I like the look of those. I just want something neat & low maintenance.

@MummyJ12
Not sure about Voile tbh although some of the plain ones are okay so worth considering. I guess they are good because you can just bung them in the wash too

@user593 I like the ones you have. I've been thinking that ones you pull up from the bottom could be good

Thanks for the advice (& pics) I'll look into them all.

I have a very thin roller blind which lets light in, but stops people seeing in. I couldn't get a day
and night blind, as the window was too wide.

I then have curtains wall mounted to draw at nighttime. I prefer the look of curtains to blinds in the lounge.

Yea I like curtains as it softens the window so we will probably get some curtains too. I just need something to keep the nosey neighbours out of my lounge!

I'd go for cafe curtains (super fashionable) or bottom up blinds in voile depending on the style of your house.
