Rough cost for LVT fitting per m sq?

Getting LVT fitted downstairs. Have had someone round who measuerd up and said I would need 63 metre sq and jas quoted £800 for fitting. Hall and living room, nothing complicated. Recommends Karndean polyflor or J2. That's about £12.50 per sq m fitting.

No idea if this is reasonable or not. Before I get more quotes what would people say from experience is the cost of fitting LVT. Am in Surrey, near London.

I've just had my living room done with LVT, in herringbone which made it slightly more expensive. Much smaller area than yours 28 square metres I think, and we paid 1800 altogether. I believe the materials were around 1200. We also had to get screed on the floor too before fitting as it was very uneven. That was included in the price though.

Had ours from John Lewis, they charged a set fitting price of £20 per square metre or £22 for herringbone style.

We had quotes in the region of £1000-1400 just to get our tiny kitchen done. It's literally about 6m2. In South East and no one was offering it cheaper than that.

(I should add though that cost included removing pre-existing ceramic tiles and doing all the prep).

Thanks all, so that sounds about ballpark then. Wow, its not cheap is it!

What brands did people go for? I want glue down and something light/neutral. Replacing horrible old orangey laminate (which to be has lasted since 2003 and it only looking tatty now).

I’d say £12.50 per sq m for fitting is really good. I got quoted £17 a few years ago.

Honestly have a go yourself, I've fitted all my LVT. Cuts with a Stanley knife and just slots into place

Id happily give this a go, im quite handy, do all the decorating etc, but what about surface prep? Doesn't that need a flooring guy?

I had this issue a while back and the quotes were coming in around £2k for my front room and hallway. Then one family business locally came to quote and said the herringbone felt backed vinyl would be much better.. showed me some pictures and a sample, £950! Honestly the best thing I ever did. It's thick and insulating and looks amazing. Everyone comments on the flooring

We're having Harvey Maria LVT fitted in March. Well half is that as wanted tile effect. Other half is LVT parquet by Brampton Chase I think it is.
Fitting £12 per m square from recollection.
We're putting it over porcelain tiles my DH laid initially so is being screeded first.
DH normally does all this type of stuff and has done Karndean in a bathroom before but he's got to a point he just doesn't want to anymore which is fair enough as he's done loads over the years.
