Moving out to have house renovations would you do a short term rental/air bnb?

Looking for anyone who's done the same or advice, I have a nearly 18month old and we are finally hoping to do our house renovations, it's not going to be extensions or anything but we need a boiler fitted, pipe work, electrics, new kitchen and bathroom!
We don't live that close to family members and work commitments means we do need to stay ideally local and I'm not sure where to look for reasonable accommodation for up to 6 weeks?? Airbnb? Or short term rental? Any advice/tips welcomed.

Air BnB or holiday cottage

If you can afford it, why not ?

i remember booking a hotel for a long weekend when we were having a new bathroom put in years ago.
Dh thought it was a brilliant idea when I told him, and yes we did have a 2nd loo in the house.

A local holiday cottage might do you a deal at this time of year if you need somewhere for several weeks, but not once the season starts.

I would contact owners direcr rather than go via Airbnb/Booking.com/agency where they'll just charge full whack.

Thank you for your replies, not heard of holiday cottage will look into it! Definitely would like to find something lower end in cost but somewhere safe for my son to be whilst the work is being done. I will look into it and as recommended go to them directly to see if I can find a better deal for such a period of time.
