DFS sofa - really that bad if treated well?

I'm struggling to find a sofa - it's just me, no DC so no one is going to be using my sofa as a trampoline.

Places like John Lewis and Darlings of Chelsea seem to stock almost exclusively low back sofas which aren't comfortable to me.

Although, at least on MN, DFS has a poor name I'm considering it as I just want something comfortable and not extortionatly priced and there seems a little more choice.

For those of you with DFS experience, do you think DFS could work for me?

Mine is 12 years old and as good as new, minus a few stains.

I’ve got two I bought five years ago. Not that keen on the look of them as I chose a slightly wrong colour. They are as good as the day they were bought and show no signs at all of wearing out. I’m obviously stuck with them for life

Had three DFS sofas in our life together (35 years) and they’ve been fab! Wouldn’t go anywhere else 😀

I’ve had two DFS ones over time, they both lasted around 10 years each and were lovely. The credit payment thing was easy to manage and delivery was fine.
My friend however had a nightmare with her one and had to wait almost four months for delivery and then the fabric was wrong once it arrived 🤷🏼‍♀️

My biggest issue with ours is that it’s brown. 10 years old and that was in fashion back then but now I hate it.
It is very comfortable and has lasted really well even with 2 kids all over it.

I echo the posters saying get the foam cushions rather than the little square cushion back ones!

We've had ours for six years and it's done well and still looks pretty good despite kids who are pretty hard on furniture (from younger "lets use the sofa for goalie practice" to teenage "throw self on sofa with maximum impact" via a fist few snacks and ice lollies.

I bought mine in 2021 and there’s really ‘not a brak in it’ as my old Nan would say. I’ve been very pleased with the way the cushions have held up against my sofa/telly habit. DH dropped a melty Malteser on it (and I do mean the chocolate) and it sponge cleaned invisible.

I’ve had sofas from M&S, next and dfs over the years and dfs are the only company i have returned to time and again. Currently have the joules patterdale and french connection ones in our main room and they are still looking fab. We have dogs and kids so they take a real bashing!
