What I want is the one from my childhood I had for sleepovers ! Like a foam
3 part chair! I'm awake for the eleventy billionth time this week due to DH snoring. No spare room and am on sofa but psychologically if feels like I not in bed because I'm not! I want one of those beds as no room
For a sofa bed and it could live under this sofa with a duvet for me. Has anyone had one of late? Or can recommend ? There's no space even for a small sofa bed sadly

I swapped one of of two sofas for a pull-out sofa bed, so that our living room (which is a nice room with book shelves, a TV and the record player!) became a spare room. Got it from IKEA.

Try browsing the IKEA website, as they might have the cube or Z-bed if that's easier for you, and sympathies re the snoring DH. Has he bothered trying any remedies, seen his GP, etc?

I bought one from amazon recently, foldable cube very comfy.

SummerInSun · 24/12/2024 05:41

They exist! Loaf do beautiful expensive ones that fold into a sort of cube footstool thing. But we have a cheap one from Amazon for kids sleepovers and it's fine.

Putyourshoesonnownownow · 24/12/2024 05:41

We've had a couple of Cube folding beds from the Futon company and they've held up really well, comfy and look good as foot stools. A bit more £££ than Amazon but ten years on they're still in great condition and more comfortable than a cheap sofa bed.

Thanks all. Are we all awake due to snoring ?!! He's been to GP and got laughed at as he's overweight and I don't think they'll do anything until he loses weight. I'm absolutely knackered and don't think he realises the impact it has on me sadly.

What's your budget, OP?

polkadotchristmas · 24/12/2024 05:50

@WinterCrow ideally not more than couple of hundred as I resent paying to not sleep in my own bed !

Argos sell these. Hope he gets sorted soon as disturbed sleep is the worst. Can't he sleep on the makeshift when you get one and leave you in the bed?

Some of the habitat ones look OK. I think you're thinking of the foam ones though?

Gettingbysomehow · 24/12/2024 06:48

My amazon one cost £99 and it's really nice.
I was awake at 4am with snoring. The cat's snoring and moaning followed by her chasing invisible prey. But she's cute so it's bearable.

Ineffable23 · 24/12/2024 06:51

I'm off to sleep on a small double one for Christmas today. I'll let you know whether or not it's successful and can put a link here if it is. It's not really one that turns into a chair but it does fold up so it might do the trick if they do a single width one.

Fatcaterpillar · 24/12/2024 09:24

What about this? Price continually changes.

I'll need one r without a frame so it takes up minimal
Space. Love the idea of the loaf one as we could do with a footstool but that will be £&&

Is there space under the sofa for a trundle bed with a proper mattress - that would be a lot comfier and better for your back if this is going to be a regular thing.

Foam earplugs help a bit when DH snores but they don’t block the loud snores

Alternatively invest the money in a month of mounjaro to help him lose weight…?? Although no guarantee it would stop the snoring.

RobinEllacotStrike · 24/12/2024 16:15

I have a muji one. Quite firm but very comfortable

Caspianberg · 24/12/2024 16:23

Yes I would just put a full single size mattress under sofa instead. It can have sheets already on for convenience. You can get narrower or thinner options

those fold out ones aren’t great for adults. I think you might have child’s view on memories of them. We have a really nice one that’s organic blah blah in Ds room, but it’s really only good for 2-10 year olds. You can feel the bend parts. We use ours for when friends with toddlers or child stay who are too old for travel cot

I have dh snoring in bed next to me, and teen ds snoring on the other side of a stud wall. Loop earplugs are your friend.

I've got Quies wax ones in tonight so she'll see but will be up in 6 hours max if lucky. Hate not sleeping
