I’m terrible at knowing what goes with what, so I’d love some suggestions on what to do here. I need to get white goods for this kitchen and potentially also do something with the tiles on the wall and floor. I just can’t picture what it would look like though, and I don’t have much budget past maybe painting the tiles. So the cupboards and worktops will need to stay the same.

What colour white goods should I get? And should I paint the wall and floor tiles? And what colour?
TIA

Not sure what colour...I'd personally go for a darker tone to contrast with your units. If you paint them, make sure you use a paint special made for painting tiles - otherwise it might flake off.

What colour and layout and furniture is the rest of the room, what is the general style and colour palette of the rest of your house?

That basically is the whole room, I took the photo from the doorway. The rest of the house currently has bluey/grey carpets and magnolia walls, apart from the 2 rooms next to it which are wooden floors and magnolia walls. I’ll try and attach a photo.

The kitchen is quite a small area and already has a stainless steel cooker hood so I would stick with stainless steel for the appliances. Paining tiles is not easy, I might keep them as they are neutral and add colour with paint on the walls, a blind and accessories and small electrics. If the blue grey carpet is in the same open plan area I would paint the kitchen walls navy. If you use Pinterest you can find colour schemes on there, usually some toning colours and a contrast, or start with a fabric for the blind. You could go with navy, olive green and a light pink or a burnt orange. If that doesn’t suit your style the cream (from the units) with a minky brown and dusky pink. If the downstairs is all one area you could carry the colour scheme through it all. If there is a particular style you like, mid century, boho, country etc search for fabrics using that description and that might give you a starting point. Homesense and Dunelm are good for picking up accessories which can pull a whole look together. And plants are always good.

I'm not sure I'd do anything with it - when you have your things in there it'll seem warmer. Treat yourself to a good big plant and plant pot, put some pictures on the wall.
If I was to paint I'd paint the walls a rust colour or a deep cream/tan, something along the lines of the Sweat Treats range from Little Greene. Black or stainless steel will work - we have a mixture of both, it looks just fine. Good luck in your new home!
