Ruggable rugs

Has anyone tried the ruggable rugs? Do they live up to the hype?

I'm forever straightening the rug in our hall and would love one that properly grips.

Washing is a must due to kids, pets etc. We live in the country and so there are often muddy footprints.

What has been your experience?

I love them, really good quality and hard wearing and have so far survived multiple washes! We have several including a massive one that fits in our standard 8kg washing machine which I was frankly amazed by. Definitely worth the money IMO and I like how you can change the top layer if you fancy a different colour. They grip very well on hard floor, not so great on carpet but I’ve never managed to find a rug that doesn’t slip on carpet.

I have a few. I love the designs and the price point and the wash ability. The doormat-sized ones and runners are good although one of them faded quite a bit with washing. We also have the biggest size ones in my kids' rooms and they are quite annoying. Each one comes with two separate pads for underneath so you have to line them up exactly and it's a hassle to get it right. Even when you do get it right the top layer overhangs the pad by a few inches and it is definitely noticeable. (No normal rug is flatter at the edges.) The big ones do not fit in my huge American washing machine (maybe if I stuffed it in but then it's not going to get properly clean) so I take them to the laundromat. It's not a huge issue because I only wash them once a year but they are heavy and unwieldy when wet so it's a bit of a pain.

I have one in the kitchen. It's been through the wash a lot and always comes up great.

I can’t bring myself to spend money on something that is so commonly given for free to influencers. I bet my rug would be £50 cheaper if every every single person with more than 1000 followers didn’t get one

Dunelm also do washable runners/rugs, although not ones with pads. I have several because they fit in my pathetically undersized washing machine, and they are fine and cheap enough to replace when they get shabby.
