How to get hardened Osmo wood oil off stainless steel?

I messed up while varnishing a work top and got osmo oil on the stainless steel hob and sink, didn't see it and now it's a big smear that I can't shift. I tried all household products and Brasso. Won't budge.

Any thoughts?

Have you tried heating it up? Or any kind of thinners?

Sorry, if I'm being obtuse but how would I heat it up and what thinners might I try?

With a hair dryer or paint removal gun, might soften it enough to scrape off.

Some sort of paint thinners is your best bet....B&Q, Homebase or somewhere will sell some.

White spirit normally removes Osmo oils but might need some time to dissolve it and repeated attempts. Stainless steel is probably one of the better things to spill it on as it won't soak into it.

Good luck and let us know what works!

One of those stainless steel pan scrubber things that are available from the cleaning aisle at your supermarket. They are brilliant, robust but don't scratch stainless steel.
