Sharps media unit

Hello,

I've got sharps coming tomorrow to measure up for a media unit.

I'm looking for one on a budget but still fitted by them to the exact space needed.

Does anybody have any ideas on the starting prices I'm looking at?

I don't want to get totally fleeced and need an idea of what to expect.

Thanks x

I don't even know what a media unit is, but it sounds expensive. Wouldn't a carpenter be cheaper?

Thank you so much, for showing me the deal.
All sorted and just shy of 2000 for a very basic package but it's made to measure.
So it's worth it for me as I'm not diy savvy.

Thanks so much

I only did a search for Sharp's media unit because I didn't know what one was.
Sometimes I'll bump threads that seem overlooked because I think it will look more inviting to others if there are replies.

It looks smart.

I can't comment on the media unit but can say they once quoted me £9k for a small walk in wardrobe I managed to do for about £300 from IKEA

Also they aren't really bespoke. It's still MDF and existing products - they just make it look neat. They don't build the whole thing from scratch.

The companies that advertise in the colour supplements of the weekend papers tend to be mega-expensive compared to DIY or a handyperson+parts.

The sort of things I mean are fitted kitchens, wardrobes, staircases, sofa reupholstery etc.

With a media unit, bear in mind that technology changes. My 32" telly was huge once. It's probably considered tiny now. You might need to reconfigure in the future esp. if you're an early adopter.

If you can afford it, and it's less stressful than 'get someone in', then why not.

I'm a bit averse to anything fitted or MDF, but that's me. Not everyone wants a mish mash of 20th century tat. Grin
