So in the next couple of months we have to move our youngest (currently 9 months old) into his own room, we didn’t decorate during pregnancy as we knew he’d be in with us for the first year and we’ve been using it for storage 🙈

Does anyone have any pictures they’d be happy to share for inspiration? Or any amazing space saving ideas? We have a slim IKEA wardrobe to go in there (which is mostly drawers) and obviously his cot. I would like to get a comfy chair for bedtime stories, night feeds, etc, but it feels like everything is huge! The room is basically 1.97x1.97m so not a whole lot of space to play with 🙈

That is an incredibly tiny room. I don't see how you've got space for a cot, wardrobe and chair. I would forget the wardrobe and just put up some nice shelves with baskets for storage. When he's older you can get a mid-sleeper with a den underneath for playing and more storage. Where are you going to change him? Can you get a changing table that goes across the cot?

Yeah, it’s technically bigger than that but stupidly that’s where they put the airing cupboard so a good chunk of space is lost there 🤦🏻‍♀️ We’ve had a cotbed (bigger than current cot), chest of drawers and chair in there before, but it was snug 🤣

I was hoping the wardrobe would save space compared to the chest of drawers we had before as it’s taller and narrower. Where will I put his clothes if we don’t use it? 🫣 He doesn’t need changing in the night anymore and usually in the morning we bring him downstairs in his jammies with a change of clothes for after breakfast. Nappy changes need to be on the floor anyway as he’s a massive falls risk otherwise 🙈
