I'm so confused about whether to get LVT (Karndean Knight) or fully waterproof laminate.
If you have either please let me know pros/cons 🙏

Biggest regret about our kitchen is using laminate and not tiling, it's fully waterproof my arse. A couple of leaks have got into the MDF at its core, and it's swollen up. With all the units on top it would be a nightmare to change. It might have cost a few hundred more for tiles then but to redo it in 5 years time will cost thousands.

Thank you!
I have tiles at the moment but it's cold 🥶

I'd use a couple of washable and replaceable rugs in winter!

LVT is bomb proof, bar the odd scratch. Laminate will chip and you'll see the core. Get a sample of both that you like and try and scratch with knives, high heels, anything. Then out samples on the floor near a window or glass external door and look at the damage in different lights

Love my lvt, used it in the last 3 houses. It does scratch so often lighter colours are better than darker. If one piece gets damaged you just lift it and pop another one in. But it's pretty sturdy so having to do this would be pretty rare.
Warmer than tiles, easy to clean, no worries about damage.

We found waterproof laminate is only waterproof from the top for spills, but not underneath. So if the leak gets under it swellls.

What make do you use?

@CassieMaddox I've used amtico, karndean and moduleo. They've all been fine. There are small differences in how they are made, but I don't think it's made any difference in performance so now I just choose the one that is best fit for colour/style and price.
