Flush or mounted fit induction hob?

Hi,

We are getting a 900 induction hob on our island.
We are having quartz worktops and they have quoted extra to have the hob fitted flush. Apparently the original quote was to have the hob mounted fit.

I don't know what will be best. What have other people got? Is it worth the extra £200 to have to fitted flush? I don't want to skimp and then regret it!

Thanks

Hi op, Ours is flush in our quartz worktop and I love it. I'm not really sure what a mounted induction hob would look like - I don't think I've ever seen one. I thought they were all flush unless I've misunderstood the terms.

Get it flush fitted. We have flush in main kitchen and it’s so much nicer and easier to clean.
the mounted one in utility was onto and crumbs get underneath all the time so I have to lift

Hi op, I've just checked and ours is flush. I'd go for that option if you can.

I have a gas hob but it's black glass and mounted ( I assume as it sits on top of the worktop). It doesn't matter how often we re do the sealant around it I am forever running a bamboo skewer around the base to evict all the crumbs and bits that accumulate there. Go for flush.

Thanks for the replies. I wasn't sure how much of a difference it would make, but apparently it is worth the extra money. We'l go with the flush fit

Flush if you can. Mine is mounted and the grime that gets wedged round the edges is gross. I have to periodically go at it with a toothbrush 🤮

Just renovated and went with flush.

Previously property the hob was mounted, BUT, it didn't sit flat on the work top, so crumbs and crap would lodge underneath. I've since found reviews which said the same, so maybe an issue just with that model and not the general style.

You will be spending lot for quartz, so get flushed. Just check though that the size they cut will fit other 900 hobs if needed in the future.

I would go for flush.
Our glass hob is surface mounted and the edge got chipped by a heavy pan (and a heavy hand).

TemuSpecialBuy · 31/05/2024 05:22

Ours is mount i have to fish crumbs out with a needle.

Get it flush

I'm glad I asked for advice, I was going to go for mounted and assume it's similar.

We will pay the extra to get flush fit. Sounds worth the extra money
