Finally getting around to decorating our house. First up will be the hallway (no natural light) and currently deciding between natural hessian and and natural wicker. Have used testers on the wall and natural wicker seems a bit stronger and brighter but not sure if that's just because we've only painted a small patch and 1 coat. Also not sure if we should do hall way different to the rest of the house? some rooms have more light than others. Is there any way of knowing which colours go together (in terms of neutrals to have in different rooms)?
I don't know about colours at all, would just like something mainstream/presentable. Any suggestions grateful received!

We've just used Farrow & Ball Skimming Stone which is a lovely neutral - get Valspar matt emulsion paint mixed up to match at B&Q rather than pay F&B prices.

We have natural hessian in our kitchen from the previous owners. It’s nice but I probably would have chosen something slightly lighter as it can look kind of brown and dull when there isn’t too much light. If you don’t have much natural light then I’d go for the lighter colour.

Thanks both - now erring towards natural wicker as it’s a bit lighter than natural hessian. I like the look of skimming stone but not sure about getting the colour mixed (and can’t afford f&b prices!)

We've got Natural Wicker in our dining room. We had it in a bedroom in our last house. It's a fairly dark room and this works well to lift it a bit.

Summer linen!! Oh I have my whole house this colour! It's beautiful! Light bright but warm.

Just had my dining room done in Nurmeg White, it's very light but contrasts nicely with white woodwork.
