Replacing feather pads in sofa seats/backs with synthetic, have you done this?

I have a sofa with really tired feather pads, and they also need constant plumping up which is a drag, so looking to replace the pads with something bouncier and synthetic. Am bewildered by the choices online, so would love to hear your success stories with the various fillings - all I know is that I don't want solid pieces of foam (it wouldn't work as it's an old fashioned style sofa with curves).

What about just wrapping a bunch of wadding around your current cushions so they are a bit more stuffed?

The problem is more that they're overstuffed with the feathers. And then when the feathers are sat upon, the sofa looks sad.

I did this years ago, with the foam blocks you don’t want- you sent your covers off and they custom made the foam to fit. It worked a treat.

We had the feather back cushion of the chair in our previous suite replaced with foam because the dog kept sitting on it to look out of the window, and eventually we couldn't get it back into shape. We went to a local company who cut it correctly to fill the cover.

I sent seat cushion covers off and got custom fit, good quality foam - so much better, and has lasted many years (10+).

I did it, used a local upholsterer. The result was brilliant and saved us from binning what had been an expensive sofa - never buy feather filled cushions, I spent more time plumping them than sitting comfortably!!
