I currently have sheer roller blinds as my lounge with 3 big bay window gets full sun all day and I need something to stop damage to furniture etc. advice please do these look ok or would anyone suggest an alternative that will look good . I like the rollers but they have to be down all day and I want to keep the room light . Suggestions or would you keep the ones I have they are fairly new ? All comments welcome

We’ve got wooden venetians throughout the house, as they give you control over light and privacy without being all or nothing. We have the kind with quite wide slats and tapes rather than cords- I think that looks better than the skinny kind with cords, which can be a bit “office functional”. Actually I say throughout the house, but only in living areas- in the bedrooms we’ve got blackout roller blinds paired with long voile curtains- again, to give the option of both full blackout or light getting through but allowing privacy.

You can get plisse blinds that go up rather than come down. Luxaflex do them.

I would prioritise sunlight over fading furniture tbh!

So glad you said this, as my blind in my kitchen/sitting room, 1 of 2 blinds in there, has bust since a few weeks ago, I think to myself god knows what people think from outside that I am a squatter lol, but it's money in terms of getting it taken off and that it's suitable to put another.
These were here when I came to live here, same in other rooms.
Management who took over since (though all connected one way or another) said they do not supply blinds.
I have thin panel faux wood slatted blinds.
And I was thinking of thermal or blackout but because I want light and privacy not sure whether to jus go for bigger slatted ones as mentioned, or other.

The only downside to me or perhaps others having faux wood wider slat blinds is that on a 6ft plus wide window they are very heavy . I agree the look is better but as an older person with arthritis it can cause an issue that’s why I was perhaps after some advice or would you just go for them anyway .
