Esavian drawers

I have been lusting after a set of vintage Esavian drawers for over 2 years. However, due to living in a small flat, they would need to be drawers in my bedroom for my clothes as I don't have space for them to be a living room sideboard or anything like that.

As they are old school drawers, the interior of each drawer is about the size of an A4 sheet of paper.

I think they will just be too small to be practical. Lots of drawers, just not individually useful.

I need to talk myself out of lusting after them.

Or do you think I could work with them?

Photo attached is of an example of a restored set.

Thanks

I have a set of these in my living room. Absolutely love them but they would be completely useless for clothes.
I use them for DC arts and crafts, colouring books, paper etc. they are a perfect size for this

Ah dammit. But I needed to hear it from someone who actually has them.

i have been trying to convince myself I could make them work. I’ve been folding my jumpers up on a piece of A4 paper, to convince myself it wouldn’t be really annoying. 1 jumper per drawer 😆

Thank you. I shall start to look at other multi drawer units to see if anything else is as nice.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news! You really couldn't fit much more than pants etc in them though. Definitely no jumpers

I am 55 and have been lusting after things for 30 years.

BUY THE THINGS! (if you can afford to without getting into debt)

When I was 25 I lusted after a classic Hermes scarf. Too old fashioned and too expensive I was told. 30 years on I still don’t have a bloody Hermes scarf. Had I bought that scarf I would have worn in at least once a week and therefore cost per wear it would have been a bargain. I could go and buy one tomorrow but my mind and wants have transferred to other things, like good pensions and health insurance.

Buy the drawers. Use them to store your underwear and Hermes scarves. Learn to fold your clothes in an origami way to make them work.

I'd look for some Stag c range drawers. They're very similar in style, but practical as drawers.
I picked some up for less than £100 at auction, they're very nice.

I'm a lifetime member of the JFDI-if-it-makes-you-happy-and-you-can-afford-it club but in this case I need the drawers to do their job. If I can't use them for clothes, then they would be a waste of money and space.

I'd end up resenting them, which I don't want 😂

I have future plans to leave London and upsize so I'll have to wait til I have a wide hallway or dining room and buy them for that.

Thanks for this. I'll look them up.
