Tips for new bathroom?

We are just beginning the process of planning a new bathroom - I'm a total novice and would be very grateful for some tips and do's/don'ts.

We have a small bathroom that gets a lot of use as it is the only one in a small Victorian house (family of four - two teenagers).

At the moment I'm looking at the option of large tiles to minimise grout cleaning and create a feeling of space. I've also seen these porcelain wall panels - does anyone have any experience of these and would you recommend them? TIA!

If you have a shower head from the ceiling or wall get one that comes with a second shower head you can detach and use. My house came eith a lovely shower over bath, with showered from the wall but as its fixed sometimes I wish it had that extra one on a hose if anything would make cleaning the tub easier

Just had our small bathroom done in 1930’s semi. Opted for a large shower cubicle with swing door, large tiles half height on main walls (with grey grout), shower boards that tone in in the shower cubicle, storage cabinet off the floor, sink in cabinet off the floor, comfort height/back to the wall toilet, good fan, large fancy mirror with a light around it.

Love it simple looks tidy and a dream to clean.

We hard our bathroom done recently:

Tiles from Porcelain Superstore, lovely hood quality and great prices.

Flooring that isn't slippery

Shelf next to charging point for toothbrushes

We have a bath but opted out of getting bath taps, we have a bath filler instead (we don't take many baths) and the area around the bath is very easy to clean

Nice LED low lighting

Tall dual fuel radiator/towel rail, it's excellent. Will come on when the central heating is on or we can turn it on manually too.

All cabinets are wall hung which makes it easier to clean the floor.

Terrible terrible autocorrect in that post!
I came to add - rimless toilet is great. Also the lid comes off ours to be able to clean properly.

Also, invest in good quality vanity units.

We also got a bath which had a bit more space in the shower area part which is useful as we don't have a separate shower
