Furniture up-cycling - restoring a table that was left outside for quite some time?

When I bought my house recently the sellers left a few bits of furniture behind in the house and I have been restoring (sanding and painting with chalk or wood paint).

I also found in the garden a nice wood table with drawers that had been left in the garden. I was thinking of restoring that and using it as a desk.

But I am concerned about bringing into the house something that has been outdoors for quite a while as I would not want to bring in some dodgy insects or something...

Anyone can advise on what I would need to use to treat the wood?

You can usually see woodworm or dry rot. If it has tiny holes or mycea, or wood is brittle, burn it in the garden and don't bring it in. If it looks fine and wood is sturdy, it most probably is. You can spray it with a 3-in-1 spray (rots, worms and beetles) for precaution. Permagard seems to work well.
