Blinds or Curtains?

What do people have in bedrooms nowadays, particularly recessed windows? I have 7 recessed windows (3 bedrooms & landing) to dress so need to get it right! I'm getting in a tizzle over all the types of blinds & curtain pleats available.

Presume a neutral coloured Satin/Faux Silk fabric would be best for a light weight, modern, subtle look?

Any website recommendations? So far I've looked at Blinds 2 Go and 247 Blinds.

I'd like to know the answer too! Hilliarys own blinds2go apparently, but the latter being much better value. I signed up to their online newsletter and also 247blinds- and both have 'sales' every week! I'm dubious whether they are indeed savings at all though.
It might be worth finding a local supplier and get some ideas and quotes from them too.
Sorry I can't help, but a hopeful bump for you.

Ive used Blinds2go and they are fine. I always have blinds in bedrooms.

We have blinds in our two massive bay windows and as lovely as they look, they are a real faff to clean !
They cost about £3000 with Hillary’s I really wish I had chosen curtains instead!

I like the look of Curtains in bedrooms as they feel more dressed. But I don't want to overpower the room and stop natural light. Are curtains old hat now? Roman blinds on the outside of the recess look nice but perhaps more suited to living areas, perhaps a bit formal? Arghh!

At a previous property, we had wooden slatted blinds, then also black out curtains. I have no idea whether that was in at the time (prob not 😆) but the wooden slats could be pulled right up and if you had a pelmet, it wouldn't be seen.

My worry about a blind, even a blackout one, would be the halo light effect around the edge, whereas thick curtains can help with that.

We've got Luxaflex Duette blackout blinds inside the recess of the window, as I can't sleep unless it's completely dark. Then we've got simple lined curtains on metal poles in our room and lined/interlined roman blinds in the other bedrooms outside the recess so it's not so stark looking.

We work in the trade and we fit quite a lot of very simple plain blackout roller blinds inside recesses these days and then lined and interlined curtains outside the recess to prevent heat loss.

I've got blinds in every room. Venetian downstairs and bathroom. Roller on kitchen and bedrooms.

Don't mind curtains but I haven't got nice windows for them. My house is a 60s council box so blinds suit better.
