Radiator colour / finish - help!

I am redecorating a room with historic dark wood panelling, and want to upgrade the radiator to a fancy cast iron with embellishment and have it be a bit of a feature. Have found some rad options that I like, but no idea what colour / finish to choose. I have looked at endless pics on Pinterest, but can’t find any examples of rads against wood panelling to even inform an opinion. Help!

wood panelling colour is a bit like these examples: https://www.distinctivecountryfurniture.co.uk/architectural-joinery/oak-panelling-panelled-rooms

Oak Panelling & Panelled Rooms

We specialise in 16th, 17th and 18th century style oak wall panelling, beautifully handmade and fitted by our own craftsmen.  The styles vary depending on individual requirements and the period of house and can incorporate a hand carved frieze and pila...

Where is the radiator in the room? I'd probably just go for cast iron black, or if it's underneath a window/window seat, I'd choose a RAL colour to match the window dressing. I personally prefer them to blend in rather than stick out. My drawing room has half panelling that I painted white, so I have a white cast iron radiator to try and blend in.

In most houses with old wood the rads get hidden. Could you hide the rads behind a wooden radiator cover at the bottom and a book case on top so it looks like a tall boy unit and match spay the wood.

We match painted our radiators so they blended perfectly and just had them sprayed.

thank you! It needs to be against a wall of solid wood panelling, and will need to be quite long - 150cm or so, so no real hope of making it invisible! Colour matching (which we have done everywhere else in the house) isn’t really an option here, so I guess I am looking for something that would be complimentary. It will inevitably stand out a bit, I am just trying to figure out how to do that in a good way! It is a quite traditional room by default due to all the dark wood, and we are using brass fittings elsewhere for electrics.

@Thinkbiglittleone i had thought of hiding it, but covers reduce efficiency and the room is already on the cold side

Can you share the rads you like? Depending on what else is going on in the room colour wise, I’d go for an aged, brown pigmented red (something like F&B’s picture gallery red). This would work with the wood tones but provide contrast (and go with brass fittings). But it really depends what rads you’ve got your eye on and what the options are in terms of colour and finish.

Ooh, lovely rads! I see they offer the red I suggested and the slightly deeper eating room red, both of which I think could work. In their own finishes, I think old penny would be good against the wood and tone with brass fittings.
