Is IKEA's kitchen installation service any good?

I'm very much a path of least resistance person when it comes to things like this and don't have time to source loads of alternative quotes for this/faff about waiting for other builders to get their fingers out, but also don't want to be stung.

Would be great to hear people's general impressions.

I've never used them, but you should have a good come back if they miss bits. Check they don't subcontract and that their fitters are their own employees, and if the former point out at order that your contract is with ikea, so you will expect them to manage their subcontractors.

Just don't use Wickes. Don't ask me how I know.

We used 'IKEA' fitters - with the hope that they'd be really good with with flat pack kitchens, which are quite different from other kitchens. However our IKEA fitters were subcontracted by IKEA's subcontractors. They'd never worked on an IKEA kitchen before! It took about a month to complete, and came with a fair bit of added cost. Only certain things (like the unit installations) are covered within the IKEA quote. While they were able to do the plug points/lightening etc too, that was all extra (and quite pricey).

Ours were brilliant and totally hassle free. Would absolutely get them in again. They were not from ikea but specialised in IKEA.
