Struggling to find a vintage/heritage pale pink for this bedroom. It's fully south facing room in a 18c cottage and we want a pale pink that warm without being salmon coloured. It has an oat coloured carpet and white ceiling.
Everything I look at is orange based so looks not quite " clean" enough if that makes sense?
Anyone else found a colour/paint they would suggest?

The pics are old and the room won't have that furniture it will have a walnut dressing table and tallboy and a white bed frame

Why is it so hard to find the one colour your brain wants lol

Have a look at Farrow & Ball instagram page if you use Instagram. Patrick quite often does colour schemes for different rooms and the different colours.

Setting plaster is a nice pink but perhaps a little too pink for you.

Pink ground and cuisse de nymph emue (Edward bulmer) would look lovely. Alternatively calamine has a hint of grey if you want a less warm colour. I’ve used all three and my favourite is pink ground as delicate and warm.

Mylands do a couple of really pretty clear pink colours, sorry don’t have a colour chart handy, the paint is excellent & covers really well.

Highly recommend Tikkurila Maiden, also you could try having a look on https://plan-home.com/, there's lots of info about how colours look in different lights and their undertones etc.

Because the room is south facing you'll need a pink with a blue or violet base to stop it turning peachy.

Try the following:
Middleton Pink by F&B
Threadneedle by Mylands
Chemise by Little Greene.

F&B Setting Plaster, Edward Bulmer Jonquil,
Paint&Paper Library Plaster II - these are all what I consider light pinks. If you get their colour charts, you can see their next stronger version. All are heritage colours. If you, for an old cottage, want a breathable traditionally (I.e. petrochemical/plastic free) made paint, I would recommend Edward Bulmer.

NellyBarney · 08/08/2023 17:36

Edward Bulmer and F&B do online colour consultation, too.

The Dulux heritage range have 3 different pinks that are all quite lovely, I know not everyone likes Dulux paint but I'm not sure of your budget. Also very reasonably priced is the Johnstone Ballerina slipper which seemed a really popular choice for people that wanted pink bedrooms not so long ago.

Benjamin Moore Frosted Petal, it's incredibly delicate and absolutely beautiful

F&b pink ground all day long

Little Greene China Clay is a nice clean vintage pink with touch of grey-comes in different depths. Our spare room is SE facing and looks good in CC deep.

I love this one - a kind of grey pink, the grey means it feels more sophisticated and grown up rather than girlie https://www.farrow-ball.com/paint-colours/peignoir

Peignoir

Richly pigmented paint and handcrafted wallpaper.

That's really lovely, almost a dusky pink.

Not 'almost' it is a dusky pink and it's lovely.

I've got Middleton pink (F&B) in the bathroom- it's so pretty

Mirabai · 11/08/2023 18:15

It’s a small room with low ceilings so I would do Paint & Library Plaster I - it would be perfect and not too overpowering.

I love F&B Pink Ground but it comes out quite pinky pink - better in a bigger room.

I love Edward Bulmer - I think Cuisse Emu would be too intense, I would look at Lilac Pink (not at all lilac) but they do the colours in different strengths which is brilliant so that you don’t have to lighten it yourself.

Mirabai · 11/08/2023 18:16

F&B Peignoir comes out quite grey -I’d want more of a warm colour.

ValBiro · 11/08/2023 18:18

Valspar "you're blushing" is very subtle and have used it in two south facing bedrooms to great effect. Quiiiiite and bit cheaper than f&b too!
