Anyone know of any non-toxic carpet brands. Thanks.

They are few and far between and expensive. It's also not just the carpeting that is doused in chemicals. It's the backing, the glue, the underlayment. If you're really worried about chemical exposure, you should swerve carpeting altogether. Wall to wall carpeting is never recommended health wise. Carpeting is also very problematic for people with allergies.

Below are some 100% undyed wool options, with a latex-free backing and there are 100% British sheep wool / natural fibre ( sheep/goat/llama hair) underlays available too.

Natural fibre flooring could also be an option - very hardwearing / sustainable - not soft like wool though.

Some man-made options are also recycled or made from natural products ( such as Tencel) which can be incredibly soft and produced in an environmentally conscious way.

Envirobac

Environbac is a revolutionary secondary carpet backing system which makes the carpet lighter therefore easier to transport. The manufacturing process is free from harmful emmissions and wool is naturally hypoallergenic, fire and water resistant and wil...

NOOO😭😭 and they're coming next week so I have a few days to change my mind, if you find anything!!
Some things I've read - it had a lot to do with the glue that's used, so try and get a natural one that won't off gas as much? Or something like that.
And then I looked at laminate and vinyl and that's meant to be just as bad if not worse for off gassing. So I'm really stuck for what to do and pregnant too!

It's a tricky one! We have also been agonising. We are having a house built and I want it to be very low toxin. I like wool but having had moths it's a real stopper, also I have dust allergies. I think we will be having engineered wood in the formal rooms and hallway and Marmoleum in kitchen, utility etc. I hope it will be cosy underfoot with underfloor heating. We could maybe risk the odd rug, too. I just cannot face having vinyl flooring.
