Please can someone help me choose colours, paint, tiles, blinds, accessories etc for my lovely but boring kitchen. It’s new so I’m not changing or painting the cabinets, worktops or floor.

I like a mid century/scandi look and my partner has created this artwork for me for the dining side.
I’m at the point where I might be willing to pay for someone to make these decisions for me if such a service exists.

Farrow and ball do a consultation service.

But, I'd pick one of the colours from the artwork. The mustard perhaps?

SquishyGloopyBum · 25/05/2023 09:59

Or the pink!

SquishyGloopyBum · 25/05/2023 10:17

Me again. You could also go with the colours in the art but pick a lighter shade of that colour to made the art pop out if that's a worry. Hope that makes sense!

LadyDanburysHat · 25/05/2023 10:20

What colour are the cupboards? Is it grey or taupe? Hard to tell from the pics. I agree that the mustard or pink would be great.

Confuzzleduzzled · 25/05/2023 10:24

The cupboard doors are grey. I have some pink sample on the wall but think it might be a bit much to go all pink on all the walls. I’m not that keen on mustard. I like it as an accent but don’t want it everywhere.

Pale pink on one wall and use some of the other colours as accents?

tatteddear · 25/05/2023 10:32

I'd go for the pink as an accent wall in your dining area and perhaps a nice patterned Green tile? Pastels are trendy and would lift your units nicely. (But they can look a bit cutesy so might not be your bag-in which case I'd go with a dark green accent wall ( or walls)and a neutral tile so you can easily change it later.

tatteddear · 25/05/2023 10:36

Or something like this but I'd throw in a pink accent in the tiles and curtains on your French window?

I reckon white walls, but the wall where the dining table is the green in the art work or a shade darker, pale pink tiles in the kitchen and a rust/red (colour from the artwork) and white striped blind. However that might not be mid century enough!

Riverhousepuppy · 25/05/2023 14:08

Scandi would be white walls. Maybe add some textures and candles or low level lighting to it too

Caspianberg · 25/05/2023 14:15

I would get a blind in kitchen in that terracotta colour from pictures.

Then light of the darker green curtains in dining area.

add green and terracotta accessories between the areas to link and the pictures up.

Bluesheep8 · 29/05/2023 07:52

The sagey green from the artwork with a patterned blind in the pink shade.

It looks already pretty lovely and the art is amazing! What do you want to tile? You seem to have already quartz upstands. If it's a splashback, could your dp create a mosaic out of metro tiles in the colours of his art work? Or he could have a persplex splashback printed according to his design. I rather like white walls for your room - an off white with a dash of grey, no yellow creamy undertones. Alternatively, light sage. There are places that can print onto fabric, so you could even design a blind on the basis of your art work.
