Wall colours to go with navy sofa

Currently renovating ground floor of our Edwardian terrace. We've made lots of the big decisions. Howdens shaker kitchen in Reed green, grey floor tiles, white quartz top.

Then living room will have Howdens engineered wood oak flooring. Living room furniture (which will stay) includes a big navy sofa, brown leather armchair, oak TV bench and coffee tables. Curtains are also blue (mid/dark).

I'm now wondering about paint colours. Can any of you lovely MNers show me what you've combined with similar colours (either our kitchen or living room schemes) for inspiration?

We have navy kitchen cabinets with white quartz and oak floor, navy sofas in our living room with lots of oak furniture and floor etc (with a multi coloured rug, cushions and art) and have gone for Cornforth white by Farrow and Ball on all the walls.

Thanks for sharing! It looks lovely. The wood grain on your floor is gorgeous.

And funny you should suggest that. We've actually got Cornforth White in the living room at the moment, painted in a very slapdash fashion over the old 1970

(posted too soon)

... old 1970s textured wallpaper left by previous owners. I do like it!

Maybe we should just repaint in the same...!

I might even have a tin still in the shed...(shoddy paint job was one of my lockdown projects!)

We have gone with pink - specifically Pink Ground but I also liked the look of Setting Plaster. Sadly haven’t got the sofa in situ yet but looks good with the armchair!

Primrose yellow (pale) looks fab with navy.

I have gone pink with navy sofas. I went for F&B Potted Shrimp. It is a Liberty colour and is a tiny bit paler than the Setting Plaster colour.

It looks lovely and cosy and warm. The floors are stained dark and I am really happy with it.

Mushroom looks great with navy

Notonthestairs · 30/03/2023 23:48

We went with Sudbury Yellow.

Resurrecting this thread as it's decision time! Has anyone paired a navy sofa with green on the walls? Esp in an east facing room?

I was originally thinking of some kind of blue but decorator reckons it'd look "cold", and suggested more of a sage green colour or maybe a neutral.

So I'm looking at F&B Blue Gray or maybe Mizzle, or perhaps Drop Cloth / Shaded White / Shadow White...

Please help! The walls currently have a mist coat of PBW and look stark and clinical - definitely needs warming up with a bit of depth of colour.

Also relevant - in the next room we've got a Howdens Reed green kitchen (similar to F&B Card Room Green) and going for Shaded White on the walls - west aspect.

I have navy sofas and used f&b borrowed light. Light ish blue grey (but more blue). Love it.

Girlattheback · 02/05/2023 22:38

I know someone with a navy sofa and Mizzle on the walls and it looks lovely.

MunsteadWood · 03/05/2023 07:36

Thanks both. I've got both Mizzle and Borrowed Light in other rooms in the house and love the colours. I've just come across the Dulux Heritage range and planning to get a sample pot of Rosemary Leaf, which is a sort of mid green/blue. Will report back!

Gold or mustard

KirstenBlest · 03/05/2023 15:52

A pale primrose colour or a plastery sort of pale pink.
