Exterior paint advice needed: PBW or Loft white

Hello, we are in a semi detached house and are painting our exterior white. The neighbour's house is white but is was painted a long time ago and they don't know what paint was used. There is a sale on for Dulux Pure Brilliant White but I worry that this will be a bit glaring/harsh. We can also colour match Little Greene Loft White, which seems softer. I am just worried that after a few weeks of harsh weather/rain, PBW will look less glaring and we are speeding up the ageing process by using Loft White? Does anyone have any views or experience with either colour? Thanks so much for your time.

We have dulux PBW in our kitchen dining and it is not glaring white at all, lovely soft white but I have heard good things about loft white too, u can get it colour matched

Loft white is a lovely white. Are you painting brick/render or are you painting windows/doors?

I LOVE Little Greene paints and use it everywhere. Their Tom’s Oil is pretty much bombproof for wood and metal and would recommend it every time. Except for Loft White. It fades over time to a more creamy colour. I think it is because it’s oil-based and because of regulations re the formula (or something!). If it’s a water-based finish you need, then I’d say go for it - it really is a lovely crisp white, but without the “glare”.

Thank you very much @Furries and @Malbab. Our decorator would like to get a colour matched loft white, which is 90 percent accurate. Hopefully it would not have the problem of changing colour over time though the colour and consistency may not be exactly the same? We are painting brick/ render. The windows will be black and the door is unpainted wood.

You shouldn’t have a problem then as it will be water-based paint. Hope you like the result. If it’s not too outing, post a photo when it’s finished.
