Can I use a tassel for a blind pull cord

My metal pulls on my Roman blinds keep knocking on the wall where they sit & are causing tiny dents/marks that have built up. What can I use instead that still looks nice?
Was wondering about tassels but not really sure how I'd attach so it looks neat & all knots are hidden. Don't want plastic, would wood cause the same issue?

Can you post of pic of your metal ends? I've done loads of changing of cords on my blinds and bathroom light pulls and I might be able to help.

Here you go @JesPrinee you can see the damage it's causing too. It's because we let go & it swings & hits the wall but tbh that behaviour isn't going to change! Thanks for any suggestions

Some have a ring of rubber at the bottom, slightly wider than the metal bit for this reason but I couldn't tell you where to buy one I gave up looking

😂
Don't think it'd work with the shape of mine. I've seen a couple like that online but didn't really like the look of them which was why I was trying to think of alternatives. I may just buy a tassel & see if I can hide the knots/make it look ok enough. Hmmmm just thought it's gonna have to be a heavy tassel 🤔

Could you make it a padded cover of some kind?

FletchingStraight · 23/02/2023 12:03

@Mosaic123 hmm that's an idea. Maybe I could try wrapping it with some type of cord

Ok, here's what I'd do.. Choose what colour tassel goes with your decor, lets say blue. Pull the metal toggle up & untie the cord ends & slide the toggle off. Get a wooden bead (Aliexpress sell these with larger holes) and paint it in blue to match the tassle. Slide the bead onto the cord. Then stitch the end of the tassle onto the cord to hold the strings together. Put a dot of glue in the same spot and slide the wooden bead down over the stiched cords to meet the tassle. Job done.
In my dc's room I took the toggle off and stitched a 2-sided felt star over the cord ends, catching them inside it. That was silent when it hit the wall.

Genius @JesPrinee!!! I'm definitely giving that a try.
Might also play with wrapping existing one with cord as well
