Hi I’m looking to buy internal door max budget £120. I have been looking at different types of materials some say solid core, pine, moulded etc. solid core has got a layer of MDF which I found disappointed and from my understanding pine is solid wood but it seems some companies say pine which only means the finish can someone assist and explain the best door for my budget. I’m would prefer solid pine meaning actually real wood. What is engineering wood? Thanks all

Not necessarily recommending this particular supplier, as I've never bouthgt from them, but they have a detailed explanation of solid vs engineered door construction here:

We looked into this a few months ago when one of our teenagers slammed a particleboard door and it crumbled off the hinges.

"Moulded" means pressed hardboard with paper in the middle - avoid.

"Engineered/solid core" can mean small timber pieces glued and jointed, but more often is particleboard with a veneer and edges - this is like chipboard. It's kind of a halfway house between hollow doors and solid wood.

"Solid" is usually knotty pine unless a £££ bespoke door. Solid pine doors can warp a bit in the frame though.
Solid oak timber doors are more expensive, as you'd expect
