Help with New builds light styles Easy fit or get wired?

I have a whole five bedroom new build with builders white plastic roses pendants. Should I just fit easy fit shades? Will they look cheap? ( some can be pricey)?

Electrician says £40 Per light. If you commit to wired fittings how do you pick the best lights as then you are committed to the fitting for a long time. Easy fit you could change.
anyone able to show me their lights they love?

How about just replacing the plastic pendants with nicer ones & then using easy fit? That’s what I have done in several rooms. Good for bedrooms so as kids grow up you can update.

I’ve got the same conundrum (we move into our new-build in a couple of months).

I’ve been taking inspiration from the show homes of that house type, both in person and in pictures, YouTube walk through etc. Also looking up that specific house type on Instagram to see what other people have done, what works well and what doesn’t.

I don't tend to change my lights very often but if you learn how to wire in fittings, you can change them yourself easily enough.

It's normally no more than an hours job at the very, very most.

Ok I never thought of changing the pendants. Interesting! I quite like the bulbs to be covered and most easy fit seem to be shades.

To be honest, we rarely turn on the “big light” in the living rooms anyway. This is one of mine, you can’t really see the bulb

You don't need an electrician to change a pedant filling to something else, if you are reasonably comfortable with DIY. It's not tricky.

But, i am lurking for ideas. Hate some of the fittings we've been left in this house, but not sure what to switch them out to.
