Picture frames problem.

I've bought some nice art prints and frames, and thought I'd set them up today. I've never put a picture in a frame before and thought I was clever having a microfibre cloth handy and wearing gloves to avoid getting fingerprints on the (acrylic) windows.

On the film covering the glazing there are some specks of fibre from the frame or backing board. I wiped the first before removing the film but there are still a few tiny specks on the acrylic itself. The cloth seems to gather them up but on lifting it they spring back. I've just spent 40 minutes trying to clean one pane of acrylic! Despite being tiny they are noticeable when I put the print in to admire. Is there a special technique to it? Should I try a damp cloth or cleaning product? I don't want to scratch or cloud the plastic. Is this a common problem or am I just unusually incompetent (or intolerant of specks)?!

I think you would be best to either use a 100% cotton glass drying cloth/tea towel or the type of material you get for cleaning spectacles/glasses.

Microfibre cloths are terrible for shedding (&the environment!)

Plastic “ Glass” is hopeless.
glass is so much nicer in every way.
If not too big, replace that annoying static plastic with glass. ( I have done that several times with Frames)
Looks and reflects so much better- and easier to keep clean.
