To ask on here ref home decor? Front door draft excluding curtain

Is there a mumsnet home decor thread? If so please let me know what it's called as I can't search talk topics on my phone
My main reason for asking is because for years I've wanted to get a beautiful long draft excluding velvet curtain for the front door.

One time I saw the perfect vintage ones, perfect colour, I was out with kids at a flea market, got distracted then forgot to go back for it 😳

I know this is aibu but I've started now so might as well get it off my chest then can get it moved to right board if there is one...
Ideally I like autumnal colours or rich green (not emerald type greens)

So burnt orange, golden, golden yellow hues, terracotta, copper, bronzey and anything in that kind of colour palette, I know it's a bit ubiquitous in home decor at the moment but these are always my favourite colours and my hall is particularly cold and stark so they would really enhance it.

Needs to be lined and thick as genuinely need it for draft reduction and my new utility charges mean its time to take action.
I've seen some I like but they're a couple of hundred quid so not for me.
Sorry meant to say, needs to be cheapish but still quality if such a thing exists.

Ideal is vintage as much nicer quality velvet, I've looked everywhere second hand that i can think of for original vintage but no dice

ideally will be either tab top or the invisible one where pole goes through, (not sure what it's called but can't do rings/ hooks), so vintage probably wont accomodate my needs but i have amazing seamstress friend so can consider alterations for the right curtain.

I hate eyelet curtains because they always seem to be silver / grey metal eyelets and I think the colour cheapen the whole look especially as doesn't complement my colour choices.
So if anyone knows of curtains with golden or bronze eyelets that would be cool too.

I have coloured eyelets in the past but is too painstaking (have a disability which affects hands and dexterity)

Unfortunately I've no idea though interested in whatever answers you get from more knowledgeable folk. However the board you're looking for is under 'Home and Garden', topic called Home Decoration.

Dunelm are often recommend for curtains, but the cheaper ones usually have that thick, bonded thermal backing rather than a separate lining.

Have you tried ebay? Gumtree, Facebook marketplace, the big British Heart Foundation furniture shops, etc?

Sounds obvious so I'm sure you've thought of this already, but have you asked your seamstress friend to make them for you?

Curtains with a lining are fairly straightforward, and won't take too long, so labour costs aren't huge. That way you can pick exactly the material you want.

If the curtain is interlined, generous in width and length and hand made it will make a cheaper fabric look good. Do William Morris fabrics fit the bill? Are there any curtain exchanges near you or EBay , because you could get a seamstress to cut it down if you saw the right fabric. I have bought curtains from fabric shops and eg John Lewis, Laura Ashley in the past from their 'bins' of seconds or returned curtains. It's always worth sticking your nose in.

Get a Portier rod for your curtain. It attaches to the back of the door and when the door open, it lifts the curtain up. This means it won't get caught under the door.

I'd look in charity shops or ebay for an old piece of velvet.

I. Interested in this, before I Google do portier rods come in different sized? Never heard of it before today!
