Room divider screens?

We have a long living and dining room. The dining room end has big windows and is lovely in the summer but cold in the winter. I quite fancy some room dividers to screen off the dining area in the winter evenings. I know they won't do much to make the living room corner actually warmer but I'm hoping it will make the room feel more cosy when we're sitting. Had anyone got any recommendations?

We don't want to spend a fortune then find it doesn't really work but equally we need something relatively sturdy so it doesn't blow over or get knocked over by the cats.

Something like this from IKEA maybe? Does anyone have this?

This company has some of the exact screens on Wayfair but much cheaper

Why don't you hang a full height heavy curtain across the room? That actually would make it cosier, and easy to push aside in the day.

I think those screens always get knocked over (maybe just my family…). You could use bookshelves but guess you want something only in the winter?

What about a big plant or two in pots… and then in summer they can live outside?

I've used a big habitat shelving thing to do this.

A family member used to rent out holiday lets and used room dividers to create the illusion of separate spaces in what was basically a studio set up. He would look for nice carved screens second hand and then fix them to the floor or wall with batons.

It's a 5 minute job to remove them but more secure - I'd probably go for the curtain suggestion suggested by a PP though, and have a lovely thick double curtain made.
