Which doors for bedroom?

Do you like any of these three? I can't really decide and I need to make a snappy decision! Most of design decisions have been for downstairs, not TOO bothered about bedroom doors so have narrowed it down to these...

No 3.

redpickle · 24/10/2022 14:23

What's the age/style of the house?

Inmyhandbag · 24/10/2022 14:27

I like no3 but if you have an older house, no1 might be more suitable.

toastedcat · 24/10/2022 14:28

It's a 60s chalet bungalow 😬

Same as the downstairs ones.

redpickle · 24/10/2022 14:29

In that case, I'd say 1

LondonQueen · 24/10/2022 14:30

Ooh! Why is that? (I think I'm leaning towards 1 anyway but I'd like to justify it with a proper reason)

I don't like no2 at all.

What doors do you have downstairs, is there a reason you're not having the same upstairs? If they're glass doors downstairs, what style are they?

toastedcat · 24/10/2022 14:32

Interesting that no-one likes number 2, I quite like them but I can tell they would be a bit of a marmite choice!

Downstairs we have glass and they're actually black which I don't think would work upstairs.

Also think about the amount of grooves and who much cleaning will be needed. I had panelled doors at a previous house and dust settled in the grooves and they were a pain to clean.

We have just had to choose doors for the entire house. We have the same style throughout, but downstairs some have a glass section, where the bathrooms and bedrooms are solid- but same style.

SUBisYodrethwhenLarping · 24/10/2022 14:35

So if it is a bungalow, are the bedrooms also downstairs?

If so, have all of the doors the same IMHO

What are the other room doors like? Please could.you post a photo of them?

If you want different doors then I like the one with the pink bed in photo

tootrueblue · 24/10/2022 14:37

No 3. - no 1 is going to give you dusty ledges so another thing to clean. I have similar in oak and they're a PITA

SUBisYodrethwhenLarping · 24/10/2022 14:38

Sorry just read your post again that it is a chalet bungalow Halloween Blush

However, please show us the other doors so it is easier to make an informed choice

toastedcat · 24/10/2022 14:40

Chalet bungalow so bedrooms upstairs, downstairs living room and kitchen doors are like this (can't find exact door)

We've got the same black door without the glass for the downstairs loo.

(I am a little bit scared it'll be pretty bold but my style is quite industrial so I think it'll be okay!)

I don't think I can do black doors for bedrooms though! Or should I?!

Number 1 will tie in wit downstairs.

toastedcat · 24/10/2022 15:20

I think I'm sold on no1!

redpickle · 24/10/2022 15:33

Yes, no 1 echoes the doors downstairs. I think they would just suit a mid-century house better. No 2 is too art deco and no 3, too cottage-ish. My house is the same age as yours and I would go for the first one.

TattiePants · 24/10/2022 16:57

I'd choose number 1. It suits the style / age of your house and ties in with the downstairs doors.
