Same lamp shade repeated throughout whole house

would this be an odd thing to do . Just moved in to a new build and house is pretty much co ordinated throughout . I love a particular lamp shade in the next catalogue … I think it’s called Oslo / wood curling in on itself effect . It would literally go well in every room and would save me from looking any further . I love a stylish room but it doesn’t come easy to me putting a look together . My style is simple / scandi ish with a few British animal type prints. Am I being too lazy?

If it’s not a big deal to you, which it sounds like it if you don’t mind having each room the same, my advice would be to have the one you like in the main social area like living room or dining room, and a cheaper basic scandi style fitting in all the other rooms. I do think it would look to have the same statement piece in every room.

In the other rooms you could have these ceiling pendants and then a plain lampshade or bare bulb.

As your new build is done, you can take your time. Other fittings might come up and you can get them as you see them.

Congratulations on your new home and I hope you have lots of fun decorating!

And just to add if you do want it in every room, go for it, who cares if it looks odd, it’s your home.

I think that would be a bit bland if I am honest, but I don't think it is uncommon to have a similar style as suggested before.

Won't it look a bit corporate? I don't know, I'm a big believer in having what you want in your own house but I think I'd worry it might feel like a Premier Inn.
