What's the thinnest mattress I can get away with?

Bought DD a low bed for her attic conversion bedroom. The thinking was that a huge low bed would be less dominant in her vaulted ceilings room.

Bought a 25cm thick mattress and it is huge - way too thick. Hoping the company will agree to a return.

Looking online now. What's the thinnest mattress I can get away with whilst making her new bed snuggly and lovely?

Can you get to IKEA? They have mattresses of varying thicknesses - some are only about 17cm. They have a 90 day exchange (although I have never used it) if you decide it still isn’t quite right.

I think sprung would be better than foam, but I know it’s personal preference.

I didn't think of IKEA! I always thought that their sizing is different to our beds
Thanks! I agree the sprung is better than foam.

Hope that the company will accept the mattresses back 🤞

Simba used to do a thin bunk bed mattress which DS has and it’s lovely to sleep on. I think now it might just be called their kids mattress.

On the sprung vs foam, for an adult I’d go springs every time, but decent foam for kids is perfect, and very cosy I think (have slept on DS bed many a time when DH snoring!)
