Ruggable rugs - any good?

I'm fed up of having mucky rugs (2 kids and a dog!) so am considering getting one of these as they are washable

I'd need quite a large size, so i'm wondering if it will be quite thin so it can still fit in the washing machine. I know you can get cushioned underlays which will help but i wonder what they feel like to walk on

Anyone got one? Are they any good?

I have one in my ds's room - it's 90 x 150, so not huge, but it goes in the washing machine with loads of room to spare. The top layer is thin so even the bigger ones are easy to wash

The one we have has been washed a few time last (thank you sicky baby) and it's still like new

Sorry - keep remembering extra things!

You need a base pad for all the rugs, as the top layer is like a thick curtain material, but the base is nice and soft

I got outdoor rugs and I power wash them every so often. They're not fluffy, but I wouldn't have chosen a fluffy one anyway. They're actually one of the best ones things I have purchased. They're really durable and walking in you wouldn't think they belonged outside.

I worry it would be quite difficult to line up the top and base so they're straight and without bumps etc?

Cost wise if you already have rugs you like it'd be way cheaper to buy your own carpet cleaning machine.
