weve just designed this kitchen and I'm totally stuck for ideas of what dining table to put in our kitchen diner..

it's roughly 2m wide between the cabinets at the back and the breakfast bar, we need a 6 seater

I think 2 metres will be very tight though. You could go for a fixed bench on one side which will reduce the amount of space you need.

How many in your family? It does look very tight for space. Do you need that extra storage in the corner, you’d have more room if you could take that out. If you’re going to be using the table daily, I think maximising the space would be best. Make sure that the chairs fit fully under the table, or you could get one that folds up to the wall. If it’s just the two of you, you could do away with the table and just use the bar.

are 6 people using the table everyday? or is that just when there are visitors?

I'd get a round or oval pedestal table and have 4 chairs for everyday + a couple of folding chairs or stools for visitors.

What's that under the TV? I'd remove that and maybe put an oblong table flush to the wall with a chair each end and 2 chairs with their backs to the kitchen. Then if all 6 of you want to use the table pull it out and put another 2 chairs with their backs to the wall maybe ?

There's an ugly exsposed electric box on that back wall which is why we've put cabinets there to hide them, we're gonna get them less deep so hopefully will add a further 30cm

I think the room desperately needs more tones, either with the chairs or table.

Glass or perpex to create the illusion of a greater space.

I'd get rid of the breakfast bar to gain more space. Two competing seating areas up against each other doesnt flow. Then I'd get a table with two benches as they take up less space than chairs.

Another reason to get rid of the breakfast bar is that it doesnt face the tv. People will constantly be truning round. Also I know you haven't asked for opinions on the rest of it (so feel free to tell me to sod off) but are you sure you want the cupboard handles on sideways? Its quite jarring.
