Does anyone have skirting boards that match the colour of their walls?

I want to paint my walls and skirting the same colour. What paint should I be using?
I would usually use white eggshell on the woodwork but as I am painting the walls the same colour as the skirting, can I get away with one type of paint across both? Thinking the durable wipeable matt emulsion?
I'm worried the finish and tone of eggshell paint will look too different to the walls when trying to match them?

yes i do, dark colour in our tv snug emulsion on walls and supposedly tough emulsion on the wood work, ( not a high street paint) wood work not doing too badly if i dont whack it with the hoover, i painted the door to match walls and it feels like we are in a cinema with it shut its a naturally dark room outside window is now an inside window with a shutter over it.
if your room catches a lot of light perhaps the eggshell would show a bit

If you painting over satin wood or eggshell I don't think the matt emulsion will last, it will peel and flake off very easily and the finish won't be very good. I guess you could use a primer? But that seems like a lot of extra work.

Oh really? I was planning on sanding them first to help the paint adhere. Was hoping that would be sufficient! 😣

Sounds lovely and cosy! I was hoping durable emulsion would be an option to avoid the matt/eggshell difference

I've done it in every room in my current house. All darkish colours but I use eggshell on woodwork ( skirting boards, windows and doors) and emulsion on walls. I actually like seeing a difference in the paint finishes, it sort of looks as if it's done on purpose not just finishing up a pot of paint iyswim

My DD and her DP have done this in their house. They just used the emulsion they used for the walls. It looks great.

It won’t last if you use the emulsion. In my experience. It looks ok for a few weeks and then it starts to chip.

My wall are emulsion and I get a eggshell in the same colour; looks great.

If you get your paint mixed rather than off the shelf, eg the dulux or crown mixing service at B&Q, you can get a big pot of whatever colour you want in Matt emulsion for the walls and a smaller pot of eggshell, satin or gloss in exactly the same colour for the skirting.
