Natural-looking but stain-resistant carpet?

We currently have light-coloured wool carpets and they are in a terrible state. There are so many stains that we can’t get out, even after jumping on each spill within seconds and paying for a professional steam clean. I genuinely don’t know how other people keep their carpets looking so pristine, but I feel like that is never going to be us…

It’s a small flat, so I’d like to keep the colour as light as possible. I also love the look of natural flooring such as sisal, coir, etc, but am well aware that this is the worst possible option in terms of getting stains out. If we’re struggling to keep wool clean, I can only imagine how bad sisal would look after a year or two.

I’m aware that there are some mock-sisal options e.g. from alternative flooring, but having ordered samples, they look and feel too synthetic to me. I’ve also considered dark natural carpets, but again, in a flat of this size I think the dark colour would be too oppressive. There are a few wool carpets that I like, but this wouldn’t really be an improvement on the stain front.

I’ve spent months looking at dozens of samples but nothing seems to work both aesthetically and practically. I’m ready to be told that it’s impossible to have both, but I figured it doesn’t hurt to ask… any ideas!?

P.S. carpet is the only option due to the lease.

We sell carpet at work, and the only stain resistant/bleach clean ones are all made from 100% polyester. Haven't got one single wool one.

We've got an Axminster moorland twist carpet in our living room (in a pale grey) and it's very forgiving. We've got 2 dogs, 4 grandkids and it's a very high tread area. I'd look for a twist style rather than a solid colour.
