Badly yellowed plastic on fridge freezer. Any ideas?

My old fridge freezer works ok but the plastic trim at the top and between the bottom of the fridge and top of freezer, is really badly yellowed. I’ve tried a mix of bleach and bicarb and scrubbed it with a magic eraser then left it for a few hours but it’s made no difference at all. I’m moving into a new build flat with a white kitchen and would like to smarten it up. Does anyone have any ideas or even know if it’s possible?

Are you able to remove the discoloured parts?

You can bleach discoloured white Lego bricks by putting them in hydrogen peroxide and leaving them in the sun for a few hours. No idea how it works but it works brilliantly.

Paint it. Use spray paint. I recently painted an old fridge black and yellow to match my new kitchen. Looks amazing.

That's interesting to know. Does it not make them brittle?

Re. the fridge parts. You can spray them with plastic paint, but it does need periodically redoing. I sprayed mine silver years ago (sprayed the fridge blue to match the blue units), the fridge is long gone, but I used Plasti-Kote spray, not sure if it is still available.

No not at all, we collect vintage Lego and have treated 1000’s of bricks and they are all like new. Doesn’t damage stickers or printed pieces either.

Thanks. It's good to know you can paint a fridge. I think with the trim being so bad, a paint job might be more successful. I'll go see if I can get hold of some plasti kote of look for some other plastic paint if not. I saw the sun/hydrogen peroxide method but can't remove the strips to get them into the sun. Thanks so much for your suggestions
