Best click fit or perfect blinds for bi-folds?

FavouritePi · 08/03/2022 16:50

Looking to get some blinds on our bi-folds asap due to a nosy neighbour. Which type would you recommend and is there a specific company you'd recommend? I'm after something that isn't too expensive so no more than £300 - £400 for all of the frames together.

Important features are privacy, ideally thermal and child safe (no cords). Preferably no drilling.

Have you looked at Blinds2go? They do a click fit range, I think it's called Perfect Fit.
I haven't got them myself but I have had normal Venetian blinds from there and they've been great.

FavouritePi · 09/03/2022 18:55

Funnily enough I found them today. I wasn't too keen on going for the venetian blinds due to young children so looking at the click fit or perfect fit.

Just also wondered if anyone had either and could recommend click fit or perfect fit.

I have blinds to go thermal blinds on my bi folds.I have the thermal so they are honeycomb design and they just clicked in place ,no drilling very pleased with them .Very reasonably priced too . Would recommend.

FavouritePi · 13/03/2022 19:29

@carruj thank you. Were the thermal ones enough to provide privacy without additional curtains? If so, do you have a link to the ones you bought?

Sorry to but in, are these any good for cats ie hard to demolish...

We've had Perfect Fit blinds for about 14 years now, in a pair of French doors and adjacent windows. We're just about to replace them now as they're starting to fail and look pretty grubby after years of heavy wear. We're replacing with Perfect Fit again as have been so impressed with fit, function and style.
We're using a local independent store and fitter; they're not cheap (we're looking at about £900 all in for our replacements) but we think they're worth it - safe for kids as no loose strings, streamlined, not bulky and look contemporary.

We actually went for roller blinds drilled into the recess above the doors. Mainly because I didn't like how much of the window we lost with insert blinds. They are thermal and we have found they work brilliantly, they have magnets in the brackets so the pull cord just clicks back up out of the way.

SleevedOff · 13/03/2022 21:19

Does anyone have any links or pics? We really need to get some blinds for our bifolds.

carruj · 15/03/2022 13:39

Yes they are totally private and you can tell how efficient they are pretty much as soon as you pull them down.Ours are cream .I will try to send a photo.

carruj · 15/03/2022 14:30

Couldn't answer about cats by the way .Our dog once pulled some of them down in a moment of distress .The company replaced them with a heavy discount .(Dog was unwell at the time which neither she or we knew that morning and got entangled in the blinds in her attempt to get outside)

We've gone for Intu blinds www.intublinds.co.uk/ We love them, a little more expensive than your budget but I think they are worth every penny we paid.

FavouritePi · 19/03/2022 08:05

@SleevedOff We looked at these:

www.blinds-2go.co.uk/bifold-door-blinds

Or

www.makemyblinds.co.uk/blinds/perfect-fit

In the end we couldn't go with the perfect fit type due to the beading being too narrow on our bifolds so went with click fit. We haven't got them yet so can't comment on what is best. I'm hoping thermal blinds will help with how cold the room gets and pay for themselves come Autumn/Winter.

Just wanted to update the thread now that our blinds have come (a week earlier than expected). They're blinds2go click fit blinds which we got with thermal and blackout quality. It's so much cosier and warmer in here instantly and the fact that it took my DH around 5 minutes to click the blinds all in was a big bonus!

So for anyone wondering whether to take the plunge, the answer is yes.

@FavouritePi Would you consider being kind enough to share some photos of your new blinds?

@FavouritePi I realise its a couple of years now. I wanted to check if you are still happy with the Blinds 2go ClickFit pleated thermal honeycomb blinds? How easy are they to open and close, as there is no tab handle unlike the Make My Blinds version?

We are thinking of ordering a set of 3 for our BiFolds so should be grateful if you have any updated feedback. Thank you.
