Moved into a magnolia house. Every single wall! So going to start decorating. But no clue, please help. DC rooms I'll let them choose. 2 downstairs rooms I'm stuck. Grey carpet in one with dark sofa. Other has light oak floors and navy sofa. Any ideas? Paint all? 1 wall?

Well, what colours do you like? Would you prefer a blank canvas you can add colour to with accessories, or bolder colours toned down with neutrals? For example, my last living room was a lovely dark navy blue with light grey and copper furniture and accessories, but my current one is white with dark green, burnt orange and mustard furniture and accessories.

Well personally for me the more colour the better. But I don’t think strangers on the internet can really decide for you?
I’d suggest mainlining on interior design/home makeover tv shows/YouTube/Instagram etc for a bit to get a feel for what you like and don’t like.

I'd paint throughout in trade white and decide after I have seen the rooms in different seasons

I don't like magnolia

Magnolia is fine to live with for now. Choose shades based on light orientation and the feeling you want to achieve. If you are going for big colours try to develop a palate so you can move from one room to another without experiencing two shades jarring - this is especially important downstairs in the public rooms.

Live with it awhile.

Magnolia is seen as quite repugnant now by most but sit and live with it awhile before deciding,

I’m a fan of greens, and irs becoming fashionable now, but you should take some time to decide what you love,,,it’s unlikely to be magnolia.
