Normal.wallpaper in kitchen?

Have bought some beautiful orla kiely wallpaper that looks almost tile like. Am thinking of doing.a couple of walls in the kitchen.. opposite cooker in two recessess either side of a woodburning stove. Decorator says it will fine.. dh says it will peel off woth steam.( we cook a lot.and have no expelair thing) .. i.wonder if decoator is being a bit blase as wants the.work.
..

I have vinyl wallpaper in my bathroom, and it copes with the steam. It depends on the size of the room, and the type of wallpaper.

Mine's washable/scrubbable which is why I risked it.

Its normal non washable wall.paper.
The room is about 12 feet by 10 , the paper we be across fromcooker say 10.feet

That's a bit tight, I'd say. When you get fully steamed up, does the wall get damp/sweaty? Is it an external wall?

One of my bathrooms I decided not to do, because the outside wall does stay cool and gets condensation when it's steamy.
