Hi. I am looking for ideas / tips for upcycling and or recovering these dining chairs please? Plastic seat covers are a bit naff and peeling but the chairs are still really solid so reluctant to replace them. Any advice much appreciated.

The strip of faux leather up the chair back makes it tricky. You could make some all-over fabric covers, but it would be a lot of work.

Agree, the seat pad itself should be easy enough - if you turn the chair upside down you should be able to unscrew it then you can remove the pleather(!) Replace with new fabric (with a staple gun), screw pad back onto chair. Without a closer look, not sure what you would do with the chair back. Unless just changing the seat pad would be enough?

I agree with @pickingdaisies that seat pads if you can pop them out once screws etc removed are easy to re cover with a staple gun. If the middle bit on the back is not removable & check it , could you just do a cover for the back in the same fabric as seats with ties etc round the back ?

Back - I would remove the cover - check out what's going on underneath, might stabise back with webbing - depending on the construction and then seek to add a layer of foam 1cm - attached with spray glue and then a layer of wadding 1m. Stable around with calico - even tension starting at the middle, then cover front with top fabric. Add back panel using tape for the top and invisible stitch the panel down the sides - nail gun underneath.
