Fabric white table cloth

When we go out for a curry I always wonder how the hell they will get the table cloth clean by the time I’ve finished.

I really want a nice white table cloth on our table for Christmas. What is the best material to get stains out of (I want material not wipeable)? If you have one you love, where did you buy it from?

I bought a John Lewis one, can't link but the code is 60155011. It washes brilliantly and any spots like red wine, bleach out completely. It irons really crisply and looks lovely on the table.
I did buy some linen napkins from Dunelm with a matching band along the edge and they are equally good, thick cotton and wash and iron perfectly. They may do a tablecloth the same.

I'd go for something you can wash at a very high temperature. White plain cotton would be good - nothing with trims or damask applique patterning.

Shrinkage in cotton is normally not always but normally caused by tumble drying not washing.

Wash with a biological washing powder (not non-bio and not pods or gel) because the powder gets stuff whiter and the biological agent lifts stains better. It's somethig to do with the fact that the powder construction allows a form of bleaching agent to be added that they can't suspend in a gel I think.

If you can't find what you want you could just buy material and get it edged/finished for you by the dry cleaners /alterations place.
