Downstairs cloakroom. Was so excited that I was going to be able to finally use my lovely Moroccan holiday basin that I've moved from house to house for twenty years - it's a thing of beauty in turquoise and gold, but alas, the room is too small so back into the bubble wrap it goes :(

And obviously everything else just looks clunky and boring now.

It has to be wall mounted and the max width is 40cm and max depth is 30. Will have brushed brass waste and tap and I've left it too late for wall mounted taps which has also made me cross with myself.

Is there anything prettier than bog standard out there?

Please and thank you.

We chose a teeny sink for a very small bathroom. I regret it, there may be more space than you think once the basin is actually up. I've seen people do this in normal sized bathrooms too, they assume they won't have enough space for a full size sink and end up with a really annoying small splashy sink.

Im assuming you have but have you actually tried your very beautiful Moroccan sink against the wall? Nvm just measuring it? It sounds gorgeous.

We have a Barbican sink which isn't everyone's idea of beautiful but I love it! In a downstairs cloakroom you literally just need somewhere to wash your hands, after all.

Unfortunately however Barbican sinks have been discontinued, so that's not very helpful for you.

However I've seen this Thomas Crapper one looking extremely stylish in the work of Beate Heuman, so worth exploring if budget permits. It's a little wide but the depth is within your requirements.

This is the exact sink I was looking at earlier today. I'm not sure whether we can make it work because as per my OP, I think I've fucked up by not getting them to plumb for wall mounted taps. I have emailed builders this evening to ask.

I think I need something that will accomodate an upright tap.

So much regret that I didn't get them to plumb the wall facing the door as you go in and insisted it had to be facing the loo which has completely limited what i can do. I always think a downstairs loo is where you can be as creative as you want and now I'm stuck looking at white blocks of basin.

I'd also looked at Thomas Crapper but the Downham basin. Too big though.

Sorry - the Thomas Crapper one needed wall mounted taps as does anything I like

I was going to suggest the very one. I keep getting adverts on Instagram for it.

Any bowl can be turned into a vessel sink/basin with the right drill (different materials would cal for different drill bits). You could find one you like and convert?

Can they somehow
scoop out a bit of your wall so you can get the one you have put in?

Architectural salvage yard? Vintage sinks are gorgeous. Moving plumbing for taps would be very easy unless you’ve tiled the whole wall already, have you?
There are cool concrete basins out there too but can’t remember the name!
