Can I use Frenchic paint on particleboard/MDF?

Love the look of Frenchic paint, but am wondering whether I might be able to use it to upcycle furniture that isn’t made of wood? Does anyone know if they would work or that might share a success story/pics? TIA.

Gentle, hopeful bump 🤞🏼

I used it to paint my laminate window frames (internal) and it worked really well. Built up several thin coats and sanded in between. Really pleased with the finish. I still think you need to “key” the surfaces before to help it adhere and last long term (that might just be my opinion though)

Yes you can use it on various surfaces
Do a practice piece if necessary and check out their website & YouTube channel for tips

Beware the hype of Frenchic paint especially on Facebook. I prepped and used it on a composite door, all exactly as instructions. It's okay, not fab, seems to pick up a lot of marks and dust. Has started to flake on one part but is outdoors. Used it on a TV unit, again it is okay but both needed a lot of coats. I think there are better paints out there. Have a look at the not#thebestpaint in the world for a balanced review of paints

Ah, thanks @Cherubimbum - that’s good to know. Please do share any other alternatives you might know of and, in the meantime, I’ll check out your recommended link. Thanks!

I didn’t want to divert you’d as you’d specifically asked about it. But what I have done when upcycling MDF is to use Frenchic as a base coat (usually two thin coats in white) and a light sand between coats. I’ve then used actual wood paint in the colour of my choice (two coats) which is very durable. So far I’ve used Dulux Satinwood (used that on my laminate window sill as the top coat) and on furniture I’ve used Little Greene & Farrow & Ball and colour matched Dulux. All work really well. For my kitchen units (also MDF) I’m using the Zinsser shellac primer instead of the Frenchic but I wouldn’t recommend this for furniture as it dries so quick and only goes on smooth with a foam roller.

I've used Frenchic for tons of things and I love it. ( Not a rep!)
I peeled the laminate off my kitchen cupboards and painted them, and I'm really pleased with the results. I prepped, did numerous coats, and let it cure for ages though.
There are different ranges though, and I think there have been issues with certain colours in certain ranges

I'm a fan though!
