So painter is starting next week, I am moving between pure white, Farrow & Ball Light Blue and any other random colour. I'm so bloody indecisive.

Room is South/West aspect - planning to keep woodwork white for now. Thanks a million for your suggestions!

F and B Pale Powder

How much do you like blue? I like Pale Blue but imo it looks better in darker rooms. If you're looking at F&B I would consider a pale grey like Ammonite or even slightly darker like Cornforth White.

Have you looked at Farrow and Ball's James White? It's got a soft, almost sage green tinge to it and it looks lovely in all types of light.

Buy a few tester pots, paint them on some sheets of A4 paper and stick them around the room at different locations.

Looks like a lovely space you have there OP.

I'd go bright with a yellow!

Oh God, fantastic idea, that would look amazing! I have F and B's Dayroom Yellow in a sunny south facing room, and Babouch in the porch - that's got more of a gold/mustardy tinge to it and it's beautiful too.

Thanks for the yellow love!

Print room yellow is an archived F&B colour which is lush (not as bright as Babouche). Can get it directly from F&B!

Thanks for all the ideas. Unfortunately not a fan of yellow at all! I prefer cooler contemporary colours really, funnily enough the hall is being done in Cornforth White! I think ammonite could be very similar to what's there already.

A grey with blue undertones might work as long as I stay away from baby blues? I was also wondering about pink but not sure what would work with the kitchen which is very similar to Dimpse.

If you’re committed to F&B I can’t help but I’ve just had my new kitchen painted in Dulux Soft Stone, which is a kind of pinky beige - a bit like Germolene for the oldies amongst us!

I chose the Easycare finish as it’s the kitchen and it looks fab.

MaraScottie · 10/09/2021 10:40

Not committed to F&B but I try keep my options limited, I'd be totally overwhelmed otherwise Grin

I'll check that Dulux one out, thanks!!

Dulux Polished Pebble is worth a look OP
