Where would you put a cot in this room?

Expecting our 3rd DC and this baby will be in with us for a while as we only have 3 bedrooms, with ds9 in one and dd2 in the box room.

To save money we will just be getting a space saver cot rather than a next to me and then cot etc, but I can't decide where to put it.

I am wondering how I can have a bedside table as well as a cot, and also how naff it would look to take the door that's nearest the mirror off and replace it with a curtain so I'm don't have to worry about opening that door to get to our stuff?

The bedside table and lamp are temporary and need replacing. I am thinking maybe a floor lamp on DH's side nearest the window and I will attach a night light to the cot for night feeds.

Any help would be much appreciated!

What do you mean by a "space saver cot"? Would you consider a moses basket? That would hardly take up any space and can just go in front of the bedside table (but alongside your bed). This is what we did for our 3!

We had the cot along the bottom of our bed as there wasn't space at either side on the bed. We used a crib and then the cot

I can see your dilemma.
Would there be enough room if you moved the bed to the wall opposite and place the cot at the base of the bed? Otherwise a secondhand Moses basket or a cradle. Mine lasted about 4 months in a cradle.a floor lamp sounds a good idea.

How much space is at the bottom of your bed? The photos don't show that. I would ditch the bedside table and just have lamp in corner by radiator as you suggested. I would remove the mirror for safety reasons and put the cot along the wall the mirror is currently on and don't see any problem with temporarily replacing the louvre door with a curtain whilst it suits. It being functional is more important than looks at this stage. You could probably night feed by the light from your kindle or mobile phone tbh. Best wishes.

You wouldn't want the baby's cot too close to the radiator for safety reasons either so that limits the layout changes.

Thanks so much everyone for your input.

This is the bottom of the bed - no space for cot - the bedside lamp is there temporarily for the fan

I’d put the cot lengthways against the mirror wall with one end facing your bed and the other blocking the wardrobe door. I’d rearrange the wardrobes so the blocked one(s) had the stuff we didn’t need so often. Don’t take the door off and add a curtain cos the baby will be able to get hold of it through the bars.
We had to block our wardrobe with the cor for 6 months or so - it was annoying but it was the only way we could fit it in the room. Would do periodic switching out so the blocked one would have my and DH’s winter stuff in summer, then vice versa.
If you can’t fit a bedside table better just have things on the floor.

A travel cot or lightweight cot you could maybe move if you did need to get in that wardrobe door?
